Warwick officers Ali Jaafar and Justin Martin were called to the area of Harrison Avenue and Monroe Street at 4:32 p.m. June 9 for a report of a hit and run, arresting a Hopkinton, MA woman on hit & run and DUI charges.
Abel Vargas, 49, was driving his gray 2002 Toyota Camry north on Post Road past Elmwood Avenue May 3 at 5:06 p.m. when a white car struck his driver’s side rear bumper, pushing him airborne across three lanes of traffic and onto a patch of rocks before its driver fled the scene to her Observatory Road Home, where Warwick Police arrested her.
Warwick, RI – This week’s Rhode Island State Police activity in and nearby Warwick involved arrests for cocaine and ecstasy possession, missing court on trespassing and suspended license charges, a bail violator and a man wanted for hit and run.
Warwick Police may well have caught up with the Providence man suspected in a hit and run crash Sept. 21, if only because of the license plate left behind by the fleeing driver, but Officer Hovsep Sarkisian located the man’s gray 2005 Nissan parked at Lowe’s home improvement store on Quaker Lane, arresting him.
