Warwick, RI – This week’s Rhode Island State Police arrests in and nearby Warwick included a DUI arrest following a crash on Rte. 95 in Warwick and a hit and run arrest of a driver fleeing police by entering Rte. 95 south the wrong way via the Elmwood Avenue exit in Cranston.
New Jersey woman arrested for DUI following multi-car crash on Rte. 95: On July 6 at 1:01 a.m., troopers arrested Jessica Weinstein, 23, of 2643 Haddonfield Road, Pennsauken, New Jersey for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and of Drugs 1st Offense .15 or Greater (1st Phase: 0.164) (2nd Phase 0.165)
The arrest was the result of troopers responding to a multi-car accident on Rte. 95, in Warwick. Weinstein was transported to the Wickford Barracks where she was processed and released to a responsible adult after arraignment by a Justice of the Peace.
Driver arrested using Rte. 95 exit ramp to flee police after two crashes At 4:56 p.m. July 15, troopers arrested Justin F. Phelps, 32, of 127 Third St., West Warwick, RI, for Duty to Stop—Accident Resulting in Damage to an Attended Vehicle (2 Counts) and Reckless Driving.
The arrest was the result of two motor vehicle crashes in which the subject fled and entered Rte. 95 south from Elmwood Avenue in the wrong direction while fleeing. Phelps was transported to the Lincoln Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released.
