Assault Suspect Surrenders to WPD After Brief Standoff

Warwick, RI – Warwick Police responded to Motel 6 at 20 Jefferson Blvd. at 2 p.m. Monday where a man had retreated with a revolver after chasing a woman into the parking lot firing several shots, resolving the situation peacefully thanks to the efforts of a SWAT negotiator.

Members of the Computer Crimes Unit / Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force arrested Soulesene Vongkaysone, 37, of 15 Aborn St., Warwick on June 25, for possession of child pornography. The investigation was initiated by the Warwick Police Department after being contacted by a social worker that had contact with Mr. Vongkaysone.
