WARWICK, RI — Warwick Police made 42 arrests between April 20 and April 27, including three for DUI, five for shoplifting, one for simple assault, two for domestic assault, including domestic assault with a deadly weapon, and one arrest for driving with a weapon and possessing a weapon while intoxicated.
- At 10:30 April 22, Warwick Police arrested Michael McVeigh, 63, peacefully after responding to his 150 Gordon Ave. home for reports of gunfire inside the home. McVeigh was taken into custody then transported by ambulance to Kent County Memorial Hospital after about an hour speaking with a police crisis negotiator. McVeigh was charged with two counts of Domestic Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Domestic Simple Assault, Domestic Disorderly Conduct, Refusing to Relinquish a Telephone, and Firing in a Confined Area.
- A motorist alerted a Warwick officer to an erratic driver of a Mercury Grand Marquis April 22 at 9:45 p.m., leading to the arrest of Franco Didomenico, 55, of Meadow View Road in Warwick, RI, on a DUI charge and for carrying weapons – a loaded 9mm pistol – while intoxicated.
- At 10:40 p.m. April 25, Warwick Police arrested Alexander Moore, 35, at 14 Floyd Road, Warwick, charging him with domestic simple assault.
