Gallo overturned the State Labor Relation Board’s order that the Warwick School Committee must honor the expired Teachers Union (WTI) contract, stating the decision was issued with no opportunity for the elected body to argue it, and that the ruling of unfair labor practices against the body was unfounded.

The Warwick City Council is planning several appointments to local boards during its Jan. 3 meeting, 7 p.m. at Warwick City Hall, 3275 Post Road and will also consider $15,000 for sprinklers at the Cooper Building, home for the Boys & Girls Club of Warwick’s new teen center, as well as $50,000 for the Water Department for pipes and valves.
