Officer Aaron Kay was working a RIPTIDE (Rhode Island Police Teaming for Impaired Driving Enforcement) traveling east on Centerville Road Sept. 1 at 1:43 a.m. when he pulled over the driver of a black Acura sedan for speeding, arresting him on DUI and cocaine possession charges.
Warwick Police made 40 arrests between Aug. 31 and Sept. 7, including 11 for DUI, five for shoplifting, two for domestic assault, and one cocaine possession.
Rhode Island State Police issued 364 citations in the process of responding to a variety of motor vehicle violations over the Memorial Day weekend, arresting 46 people, eight in Warwick on charges ranging from DUI to cocaine, heroin and marijuana possession.
Officer Derek Mourato was driving north on Post Road when he saw a blue 2000 Mercury Mountaineer swerving in front of him, and pulled the driver over, ultimately arresting him on DUI and cocaine possession charges.

Rhode Island State Police made several Warwick-related arrests this week, including people wanted for violating a no-contact order, cocaine possession, and a hit and run driver troopers tracked back to his Warwick home.
When Officer Nicholas Reay stopped a blue 2000 Dodge Caravan March 15 at 9:31 p.m. near 1800 Warwick Ave., he didn’t find the laundry the driver said he was going to wash, he found cocaine.
