RI Trooper Log: DUI, Cocaine, Indecent Exposure

Editor’s note: The following RI arrests recorded in the RI Trooper Log were reported by the RI State Police on their website. An arrest reflects charges against an individual, and does not indicate guilt or innocence.

WARWICK, RI — RI Trooper Log arrests July 13 – July 18 involved charges for DUI, cocaine possession, felony indecent exposure, indecent solicitation of a minor and one man arrested on arson, robbery and B&E charges ranging from several RI municipalities.

Here are the details of those RI Trooper Log arrests:

Rte. 95 crash, DUI arrest At 2:12 a.m. July 13, troopers arrested Eric Hopkins, 48 of 22 Iron Wood Court, Warwick, RI for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and or Drugs – 2nd Offense – BAC Unknown. 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test- Second Offense. 3.) Driving Without a License – Third or Subsequent Offense.

This arrest was the result of Troopers responding to a motor vehicle accident on Rte. 95, in the City of Providence.

Hopkins was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and held overnight pending morning arraignment at Sixth District Court where he will be presented as a Probation Violator.

Rte. 295 crash, DUI arrest At 6:30 p.m. July 14, troopers arrested Diane Granja, 50 of 507 Grand Ave., Pawtucket, RI for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and or Drugs – 1st Offense – BAC Unknown. 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test- Second Offense.

This arrest was the result of Troopers responding to a motor vehicle accident on Route 295, in the Town of Lincoln.

Granja was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where she was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released to the custody of a responsible adult.

Controlled substance, conspiracy On July 14, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Hector Rios, 37, of 52 Lincoln Avenue, Cranston, Rhode Island, on a Federal Affidavit/Arrest Warrant for the following: 1) Possession with Intent to Deliver; 2) Distribution of Controlled Substance; and 3) Conspiracy.

Rios was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and turned over to Federal custody.

Traffic stop, missed court on assault charge At 11:50 p.m., troopers arrested Eric Mack, 34 of 29 Ascension St., Apt #5, Woonsocket, RI for a Sixth District Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pretrial Conference.

The initial charge of Simple Assault and or Battery originated from the Woonsocket Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 146 in the Town of Lincoln. Mack was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed, and transported to the ACI.

Missed court, unlicensed pistol charge On July 15, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Eryk D. Luna, 23, of 160 Hart St. Apt. 4, Taunton, Massachusetts, on a Providence County Superior Court Warrant for Failure to Appear for Presentment as a Violator on an original charge of Carrying a Pistol without a License. Mr. Luna was later arraigned as a Fugitive from Justice.

Drug possession warrant On July 15, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Elvis Ventura-Santana, 32, of 7 Home Avenue Apartment 2, Providence, Rhode Island, on a Federal Warrant for Dangerous Drugs.

Ventura-Santana was transported to Rhode Island Federal Court by members of the United States Marshals Service.

Felony indecent exposure On July 15, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Ian D. Gordon, age 34, of 242 California Avenue Apartment 1, Providence, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant drafted by the Providence Police Department for Indecent Exposure – Felony.

Gordon was turned over to Providence Police Department.

Cocaine possession On July 15, members of the Violent Fugitive and HIDTA Task Forces arrested Victor Luyando Casanova, 26, of 157 Rathbun Street Apt. 1B, Woonsocket, Rhode Island, on a Federal Arrest Warrant drafted by the United States Postal Inspectors Office for Conspiracy, Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine and Using a Communication Device (US Mail ) to Commit a Drug Felony.

Casanova was turned over to United States Marshals Service.

Rte. 4 Stop, DUI arrest At 10:39 p.m. July 16, troopers of the Traffic Safety Unit arrested Daryl Hays, 40 of 2934 Post Road, Wakefield for 1. Driving Under the Influence-2nd Offense and 2. Chemical Test Refusal.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 4 in the Town of North Kingstown.

Hays was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed and specially arraigned before a Justice of the Peace. He was later turned over to a responsible party.

Rte. 95 stop, DUI arrest At 1:16 a.m. July 16, troopers arrested Ali El Laham, 27, of 1110 Narragansett Boulevard, Cranston, Rhode Island for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – .10-.15 – First Offense (Phase I .140) (Phase II .144).

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 South in the City of Cranston.

Missed court, vandalism charge At 9:21 a.m. July 16,, troopers arrested Dajah Goncalves, 28, of 545 Ridge Road, Wilbraham, Massachusetts on a Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Vandalism originating out of the East Providence Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 146 in the Town of Lincoln.

Goncalves was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where she was processed and transported to Sixth District Court for arraignment.

El Laham was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace and released to the custody of a responsible adult.

Rte. 95 DUI arrest At 8:41 p.m., troopers arrested Dante Mann, 27, of 8 Tweed St., Pawtucket, Rhode Island on an Affidavit Arrest Warrant for Domestic Breaking and Entering out of the Pawtucket Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in Cranston. Mann was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and turned over to the Pawtucket Police Department.

Missed court, suspended license At 9:19 p.m., troopers arrested Benjamin Dollinger, 33, of 22 Jolly Lane, Westerly, Rhode Island for Failure to Appear for Pretrial Conference on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended/Revoked License.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 146 in the Town of Lincoln. Dollinger was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace and released.

Assault in Exeter At 8:50 p.m., troopers arrested Mark Klieber, 56, of 715 South County Trail, Exeter, Rhode Island for Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct.

The arrest was the result of a disturbance at 11 Raymond Potter Lane, Exeter Rhode Island.

Klieber was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed and held overnight pending arraignment at Third District Court.

Missed court, theft charges On July 16, members of the RI Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Jason S. Mather, age 40, of 31 Stevens Drive, West Warwick, Rhode Island, on the following: 1.) Kent County Superior Court Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pre-Trial Conference on an original charge of Shoplifting and Grand Theft originating from the Coventry Police Department; and 2.) Kent County Superior Court Warrant for Failure to Appear for Sentencing on a Violation for an original charge of Larceny and Grand Theft originating from the West Warwick Police Department.

Mather was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and turned over to Kent County Court officials.

Arson, robbery, B&E charges On July 16, members of the RI Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Edward J. Lepore, 27, of 31 Steven Drive, West Warwick, Rhode Island, on the following: 1.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from the Coventry Police Department for Arson; 2.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from the West Warwick Police Department for Violation of a No Contact Order; 3.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from the Scituate Police Department for Obstruction; 4.) Superior Court Warrant for Probation Violation of Suspended Sentence for 2nd Degree Robbery; 5.) Superior Court Warrant for Probation Violation of Suspended Sentence for Domestic Breaking and Entering from the Coventry Police Department; 6.) Third District Court Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment for Domestic Vandalism from the West Warwick Police Department; 7.) Third District Court Warrant for Bail Violation for Domestic Vandalism; 8.) Superior Court Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment for Possession with Intent from the State Police; 9.) Third District Court Warrant for Failure to Appear for Restitution Review for Domestic Breaking and Entering from the Coventry Police Department; 10.) Superior Court Warrant for Failure to Appear for Violation Hearing for Domestic Breaking and Entering from the Coventry Police Department; and 11.) Superior Court Warrant for Failure to Appear for Violation Hearing for 2nd Degree Robbery from the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks.

Lepore was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and later turned over to the custody of the Coventry Police Department.

Parole violation, original murder charge On July 16, 2020, members of the RI Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Leroy S. Olney, 52, of 1084 Boston Neck Road Apartment 6, Narragansett, Rhode Island, on a Parole Board Warrant for Violation of Parole on original charges of Murder and Robbery.

Olney was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and turned over to officials at the Adult Correctional Institutions Intake Service Center.

DUI, serious injury charge At 12:25 a.m. July 18, members of the Traffic Safety Unit arrested Amanda McKenna dob 3/11/89 of 277 Lowell Avenue, Providence for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and or Drugs-Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury (Blood Results- Pending).

The arrest was the result of a motor accident on Rte. 6 in Providence. McKenna was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where she was treated for injuries sustained in the motor vehicle accident. McKenna was later released and transported to State Police Headquarters, where she was processed and held overnight pending a morning arraignment and presentation as a bail violator.

Indecent solicitation of a child charge On July 17, at approximately 10:45 a.m., members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Christopher Hall, 45, of 108 Florida Avenue, Bellingham, Massachusetts for Indecent Solicitation of a Child (2 counts).

Hall was arraigned at Third Division District Court and issued $5,000 surety bail with special bail conditions of no contact with minors and limited internet use. Mr. Hall also signed a waiver of extradition.
