RIDOT: Lane Shifts, Closures Throughout Apponaug Project This Week

Warwick, RI — Resurfacing work continues on Veterans Memorial Drive, and the new road connecting the intersection of Toll Gate Road and Centerville Road to it is also progressing as RIDOT reports lane closures and shifts throughout the Apponaug Circulator Project this week.
Overnight Lane Shifts: Rte. 117, Rte. 115 
Lane shifts are possible along Route 117 (Centerville Road), from Benefit Street to Meadow Street, including the intersection of Route 115 (Toll Gate Road) and Gilbane Street,SundayThursday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
We are scheduled to put down roadway gravel and do some grading, followed by paving with hot mix asphalt. As a reminder, due to a gravel riding surface, motorists are advised to continue to use caution, plan accordingly and reduce speeds. We are also planning left lane and shoulder closures for National Grid underground gas pipe relocation on Route 1 (Post Road), from Route 117 (Centerville Road) to West Shore Road, SundayThursday nights from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
Post Road Lanes Closed near West Shore Road for landscaping
Two lanes will be closed for construction on Post Road, from West Shore Road to Veterans Memorial Drive, weekdays from7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. We are scheduled to clean, grade and prepare the areas behind the sidewalks for landscaping and driveway patching.
Veterans Memorial Drive Lanes Closed for Resurfacing
Two lanes remain closed on Veterans Memorial Drive, from Post Road to Route 5 (Greenwich Avenue), weekdays from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We will focus on installation of curbing and preparation for new concrete sidewalks. Upon completion of the curbing and sidewalks, traffic will be shifted to the newly constructed travel lanes.
Post Road Shoulder, Sidewalk Closures near City Hall, St. Barnabas 
We will have left shoulder and sidewalk area closures for National Grid gas work in the vicinity of St. Barnabas Church on Post Road, from Centerville Road to West Shore Road, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. One lane will closed for overhead wire relocation and installation of curbing prior to new concrete sidewalks on Greenwich Avenue, from Post Road to Luther Avenue, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.Please note: one-lane short-term closures may occur during cable installation.
Lane Shifts on Centerville Road: Warwick Executive Park to Toll Gate Road
Lane shifts are possible on Centerville Road, from Warwick Executive Park to Toll Gate Road, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  RIDOT plans to continue placement of sidewalks and driveways at various locations, and cleanup and placement of plantable soil behind the new sidewalks.
Lane shifts will also be possible as placement of new curbing and sidewalks continues on Toll Gate Road at Centerville Road, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Work at the former mill site will also continue, including installation of new curbing and sidewalks. No traffic impacts are anticipated during these activities.
