WARWICK, RI — Warwick Police made 56 arrests between Feb. 23 and March 1, including 7 for DUI, 7 for shoplifting, 4 for domestic assault, and two for leaving the scene of a car crash.
- On Feb. 26, Warwick Police charged Megan White, 26, of Warwick with Driving Under the Influence, Death Resulting after the fatal crash at 10 p.m. at 2055 Warwick Avenue that killed Daniel McCarthy, 82, of Cranston.
- On Feb. 26,Warwick Police arrested Justin Preston, 34, of East Providence, charging him with Driving Under the Influence Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, and Operating on a Suspended License, after a head-on collision on Warwick Avenue at 8:40 p.m. Police later reported that one of two children seriously injured in the crash, Jahmeer Valles-Halloway, 8, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead early that Wednesday afternoon.
- On March 1, 1:43 p.m., Warwick Police arrested Gregory Grullon, 27, at Arooga’s Grille House and Sports bar, 615 Greenwich Ave., charging him with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon or Substance/Aggravated Assault.
