Warwick, RI – The RIDOT reports that on Monday, Aug. 24, Kettle Street at Greenwich Avenue will close permanently.

RIDOT officials advise using Toll Gate Road, Gilbert Street and Tanner Avenue as an alternate route.

This week the RIDOT will have two lanes closed for construction on Rte. 1 (Post Road), from West Shore Road to Veterans Memorial Drive,TuesdayFriday from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Workers will continue installing new granite curbing, grade the new sidewalks, and reconstruct the side streets, including Lockart, Kent, Locust and Shippee Avenues.

Crews will also have one lane closed while they continue overhead wire relocation on Rte. 1 (Veterans Memorial Drive) South, from Rte. 1 at the Post Road Extension to Route 5 (Greenwich Avenue), TuesdayFriday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The RIDOT will also continue the tie-ins of the existing water services to the temporary water pipes on Post Road, from Centerville Road to West Shore Road.
