WARWICK, RI — A woman’s Sept. 16, 1:09 a.m. 911 call from Motel 6, 20 Jefferson Blvd., led Warwick Police to a woman wanted for assault in Providence.

According to police records, the caller reported “something wrong with her face,” during the call.

When an officer arrived at the motel, staff told them they were unaware of any 911 calls or emergencies, but mentioned that an argument had just happened between two people in room 256, according to Officer David Babcock’s report.

Babcock and another officer spoke with the sole occupant of the room, Lori Ribeiro, 58, of 460 Pine St., Providence, said an agency had temporarily relocated her and 15 other people at Motel 6 for the night. She said she and a friend were arguing earlier, but that her friend had gone to her room after.

A background check on Ribeiro turned up a warrant for her arrest on a charge of assault of a person older than 60 from Providence Police. Babcock arrested her and transported her to Providence Police headquarters, 325 Washington St, Providence, RI.
