Warwick, RI — Warwick Police are investigating shots fired at a rental car at the Comfort Inn at 1940 Post Road early Sunday morning that left several bullet holes in a 2016 Ford Fusion.

Police Maj. Christine Kelley said officers who responded to the 4:30 a.m. call, originally reported by Airport Police who heard the gunshots, attempted to stop a dark-colored car in the area, but were unable to catch it.

Officers found the Fusion, parked at the rear of the hotel, with many gunshot holes in its hood and front end. The car was rented by a couple staying at the hotel, Kelley said.
