WARWICK, RI — Warwick Police arrested a Providence woman Jan. 31, at 12:24 p.m., charging her with larceny in a $200 Dave’s Market gift card theft from West Bay Community Action, 224 Buttonwoods Ave.

According to the report of Officer Stanley Hermanowski, the organization’s chief financial officer noticed that several $10 and $20 gift cards to the grocery store, at a total value of $200, had gone missing.

A review of security camera footage showed a cleaner for the office, Heidy Ramos Linares, had taken the gift cards from drawers in the office and placed them in a trash bin and also pocketed some.

A search of Ramos Linares, and the trash dumpsters outside the building, did not turn up the cards. A female officer was requested and Officer Katerina Athaide arrived and performed a more thorough search, located the cards in Ramos Linares’ shoe, and in the seam of her pant leg.

The officers arrested Ramos Linares and handcuffed her, then transported her to Warwick Police Headquarters, 99 Veterans Memorial Drive, Warwick, RI, where she was charged with one count of Larceny and scheduled for a hearing on the charge in Third District Court.
