Sidney Lee was born on her exact due date at Kent Hospital in Warwick. Her Mom, Jessica Cullen, and dad, Brian Bilunas, of Warwick, were thrilled she arrived on time.
“When we were given the due date of Feb. 29 last year, I was secretly hoping she was born today. I mean, how cool is it, to be born on a day that happens once every 4 years?” Brian said.
Sidney Lee was born at 4:07 a.m.; weighing 8 lbs., 12 oz., and measuring 20.5 inches long. She joins the family with her two brothers Christian, 19, Grayson, 5 and her sister, Reagan, 3.
Leap Day Baby Birthdays
According to TimeandDate.com, Some Leap Day babies celebrate birthdays on Feb. 28, while some prefer March 1.
Timeanddate.com notes Leap Days are a tool used to keep our calendar in alignment with Earth’s revolutions around the Sun. The Gregorian calendar is set at 365 days a year, which is out of synch with the actual time it takes the Earth to complete a revolution around the Sun. Timeanddate.com explains this in more detail, with a helpful graphic.
