WPD Asks Public’s Aid Finding Man Missing From Kent Hospital

UPDATE Nov. 7: Warwick Police report Malis was located at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 6 in the woods between CCRI and KCMH.

Malis was in good condition and was brought to the hospital for a check up, police reported on their Facebook page.

“We would like to thank the departments that joined with us to participate in our grid searches which included RI Troopers with search dogs, officers from CCRI police, and officers from KCMH and Butler security,” Warwick Police wrote.

WARWICK, RI – Warwick Police report they were called to Kent Hospital Tuesday afternoon for a reported missing man, an 69-year-0ld with Dementia/Alzheimer’s, and are seeking the public’s help locating him

Police reported on their Facebook page that Richard Joseph Malis, 69, walked away from the hospital at approximately 5:30 p.m. Nov. 5.

Police described Malis as a white male, 5’11 approximately 180 lbs, with a slim build.

Malis was last seen wearing a dark-colored sweat shirt (v-neck style), gray sweat pants and black shoes. Malis suffers from the onset of Dementia/Alzheimer’s disease.

Police asked anyone who sees Malis, to contact the Warwick Police Department at 401-468-4200.
