Warwick Weekend: Tree Lighting, Bazaars, Author Expo

WARWICK, RI — Warwick Weekend  events begin with the winter market Friday, then the city tree lighting Saturday and more holiday shopping, capped by another shopping event Sunday.

Warwick Weekend weather is forecast in the low 50s with a chance of rain throughout, according to the National Weather Service. Here are some events and happenings to help you decide where you’re keeping dry:

 Warwick Weekend Friday:

Bring your own Improv This interactive improv show at the Warwick Center for the Arts welcomes voluntary audience participation! You can participate in one of three ways: applaud for a scene you like, yell out fantastic suggestions, or if you feel you’re ready, jump up and get involved with us on stage.

WCFA Winter Market holiday shopping has another local venue at the  Warwick Center for the Arts, 3259 Post Road, continuing its three-week Winter Market showcase of artistic gifts of every stripe.  During the market, affordably priced works adorn the gallery, complemented by tables of assorted artistic creations. Those items run the gamut, including mosaics, wooden bowls, jewelry, and succulent arrangements.

The market is open during WCFA hours, 11 a.m. till 3 p.m., Wednesday Through Saturday. Extended open hours include Fridays from 3 to 6 pm. The Winter Market is presented as an opportunity for artists and shoppers to connect in a festive way this holiday season, according to the WCFA.   Admission is free, but donations are welcome. If you would like to schedule a private shopping experience, contact 401.737.0010.

First Congregational Craft Show Check out First Congressional Church in Oakland beach for their craft show Saturday from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m. and Sunday 12 – 6 p.m. Raffles, vendors, food and hot chocolate will be available during the show.

Tree Lighting Join Mayor Frank Picozzi and the Warwick Parks and Recreation Department Saturday Dec. 2, for the City’s Annual Tree lighting at Thayer Arena. Food Trucks will be available beginning at 5 p.m., Tree lighting begins at 5:30 p.m. with family fun activities to follow.

RI Author Expo West Bay Holiday Bazzar More than 40 vendors offer a wide variety of holiday decor, specialized gifts, unique artwork, custom jewelry, artisan greeting cards, handcrafted pottery and much more. Event will be held at NYLO Hotel, 400 Knight St, Warwick, RI from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023.
