WARWICK, RI — The Warwick Weekend begins amidst a heat advisory with feel-like temps as high as 104 degrees, so ice up your drinks, get a big hat, find some shade, and stay cool while you’re out and about.
The heat advisory remains in effect from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m Friday, according to the National Weather Service. During this time, heat index values will range from 95 to 104 degrees Thursday afternoon and Friday afternoon across most of Southern New England. The worst of the conditions will be from noon to 6 pm on both Thursday and Friday afternoons.
Fortunately, many Rhode Island beaches closed last week due to high bacteria counts, including several Warwick beaches, have received recent clean bills of health. Keep an eye on the health department’s monitoring as you plan.
