WARWICK, RI — This Warwick Weekend coincides with the Harvest Moon/ Supermoon as we near the fall equinox, with the Conimicut Art Festival, WPD coffee, and an opportunity to eat barbecue for a good cause.

The weather forecast for this Warwick Weekend includes an unfortunate 60% chance of rain starting late Friday into Saturday, but sun and temps in the high 60s Friday and Sunday.  Otherwise, it’s expected to be in the mid to high 60s temperature wise.

Warwick Weekend Thursday:

Welcome to Warwick, Warwick Library Are you new to the city and looking for ways to connect with others? Have you lived here a while and wonder if there is a way you could find a group with which to join? Do you want to know more about what city departments have to offer? This is the event for you! Come and learn about the opportunities that are available in the city on from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Warwick Weekend Friday:

WCFA: RI Art Educators Exhibit This exhibit allows us all to recognize and celebrate Rhode Island Art Educators’ own works of art. The gallery is also open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. every Wednesday through Saturday. There is no charge for admission.

Goddard Park Farmer’s Market Every Friday through Columbus Day Weekend, RI Grown, DEM’s farmer’s market program, hosts farmer’s market at Goddard Park selling delicious and freshly-harvested local foods direct from the farm to your dinner table.

Stargazing at Frosty Drew While any of the clear-sky nights will serve for views of the Harvest Moon or the stars, each Friday the Frosty Drew Obseratory in Westerly, the best stargazing spot in the state, hosts a free stargazing night, with preregistration required. According to Space.com, the evening will also feature a Supermoon: “Supermoons are full moons that occur at or near perigee — when the moon is closest to Earth in its orbit — and offer a great time for seasoned lunar skywatchers as the moon can appear slightly bigger and brighter.”

 Roger Williams Food Truck Fridays The Carousel campus at Roger Wiliams Park Zoo has a lot of open space and rolling hills shaded by trees, the perfect spot to grab dinner from a food truck and listen to music and entertainment during the park’s Food Truck Fridays event. If you miss this one, don’t worry. They’re going on every Friday till the fall.

Bring your own Improv This interactive improv show at the Warwick Center for the Arts welcomes voluntary audience participation! You can participate in one of three ways: applaud for a scene you like, yell out fantastic suggestions, or if you feel you’re ready, jump up and get involved with us on stage.

Warwick Weekend Saturday:

Conimicut Village Art Fest Visit Conimicut Village Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to meet local artists and peruse their work and wares. Explore the village in the process, enjoying food trucks and entertainment in Donovan Park.

Greenwood Fire Barbecue Fundraisier, Texas Roadhouse: Join us Sept. 30 for our annual Texas roadhouse Fundraiser. The fundraiser will be at the American Legion Post. 662 West Shore Rd. in Warwick. A limited amount of tickets will be sold at the door.

Coffee with a cop Warwick Police will be at Newport Creamery on Warwick Ave. Saturday morning at 9 for Coffee with a Cop along with Councilman Foley. Foley for Warwick-Ward 1
