WARWICK, RI — This weeks’ Warwick Weekend starts at a sedate pace with farmers market fare at Goddard Park, followed by Food trucks at Roger Williams Park that night, a benefit walk and spring craft bazar on Saturday.

Warwick Weekend Friday: Goddard Park Farmer’s Market

Every Friday through Columbus Day Weekend, RI Grown, DEM’s farmer’s market program, hosts farmer’s market at Goddard Park selling delicious and freshly-harvested local foods direct from the farm to your dinner table.
Enjoy Rhode Island-grown tomatoes, corn, summer squash, lettuce, and blueberries to round out a summertime meal of locally-harvested meat, seafood, or lobster. Shopping at a farmers’ market is a nutritious and delightful way to celebrate the summer harvest!

Warwick Weekend Friday: Roger Williams Food Truck Fridays

The Carousel campus at Roger Wiliams Park Zoo has a lot of open space and rolling hills shaded by trees, the perfect spot to grab dinner from a food truck and listen to music and entertainment during the park’s Food Truck Fridays event. If you miss this one, don’t worry. They’re going on every Friday till the fall.

Warwick Weekend Saturday: Boot Camp Breakfast Vets Aid

The City of Warwick will be hosting a “Boot Camp Breakfast” on Saturday, May 13th from 9am-1pm at the Sawtooth Building located at 65 Centerville Road here in Warwick.
The Boot Camp Breakfast is a veterans-based assistance event. At this event, veterans assistance will be available in obtaining their official VA ID cards and enrolling in the VA system. Resources will be available to connect veterans to real and immediate employment opportunities in the City, State, and private sectors.

Warwick Weekend Saturday: Strides for Independence Walk

Join the West Bay Community Saturday, May 13 for the 8th Annual Strides for Independence Walk-A-Thon. The family-fun event to benefits people supported by West Bay RI. West Bay’s mission is to provide innovative, person-centered supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in ways that promote community inclusion, personal power, self-expression and life fulfillment.

This year the goal is to raise $55,000, funds raised will continue to support people to access community opportunities for social interaction, engagement, and education.

Warwick Weekend Saturday: Crafting for Critters

Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter has invited more than 70 artisans to sell their locally handcrafted wares just in time for Mother’s Day! Products for sale include fine art, jewelry, crafts, handcrafted accessories, apparel, home decor, baked goods, candies, jams & jellies, dog treats, pet accessories, books and much more. Proceeds benefit the homeless cats and dogs at the Warwick Animal Shelter
Event is outdoors. Admission and parking are free. Food trucks will be on the premises.
