Warwick Weekend Events: Thanksgiving Stroll, Last RI Open Days

WARWICK, RI — Coming Warwick Weekend events include a Thanksgiving Stroll shopping fair at Rocky Point Park and a the final days of the RI Open art exhibit.

Warwick Weekend weather settles into the high 50s today and Saturday, with a chance of rain starting out at 30% then 50% Saturday, with clear skies and a high of 51 degrees Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. Here are some events and happenings coinciding with that weather:

Warwick Weekend Friday:

Bring your own Improv This interactive improv show at the Warwick Center for the Arts welcomes voluntary audience participation! You can participate in one of three ways: applaud for a scene you like, yell out fantastic suggestions, or if you feel you’re ready, jump up and get involved with us on stage.

WCFA: 37th RI Open Exhibit It’s the final two days for this exhibit, where  Warwick Center for the Arts (WCFA) presents original artwork created by artists who live or work in Rhode Island. Each year, we look forward to this opportunity to celebrate the creativity and artistic vision of our fellow Rhode Islanders. All media including, painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, photography, digitals arts and textile arts. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. every Wednesday through Saturday. There is no charge for admission.  

Library Veteran Art Exhibit In honor of veterans during the month in which Veterans Day, Nov. 11, is observed, the Warwick Public Library is showcasing a Veterans Art Exhibit, on display through Nov. 27.

Warwick Weekend Saturday:

Thanksgiving Shop and Stroll  held on Saturday, Nov.18 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Rocky Point State Park, the Thanksgiving Shop and Stroll features food trucks, local vendors, a petting zoo, face painting and baloon animals for the kids.

VOWS Chopstick Auction Enter in the VOWS Chopstick Auction Saturday at Pilgrim Senior Center from 12-3 p.m. to enter a drawing for great items, all to benefit Volunteers of Warwick Schools (VOWS). You must be age 18 or older to play. Purchase a Golden Numbered Chopstick for $25 to be entered in every drawing. Golden Numbered Chopstick Purchasers need not be present to win. Once you have purchased your Golden Numbered Chopstick, you may purchase up to five plain chopsticks $5 each. Plain chopstick holders must have purchased a Golden Chopstick, and are “in ‘till you win”.
