WARWICK, RI — This Warwick Weekend events roundup boast the final Pawtuxet Village Farmer’s Market, a Howl-Ween Hike N’ Treat aiding animals, and this year’s West Bay Open Studios tour.

The weather for this week’s Warwick Weekend events promises mostly sunny skies with high temps in the high 60s to low 70s Friday and Saturday, when local events are scheduled, then a chance of rain with temps in the low 60s Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. Might be a good chance to catch up on your reading.

Norwood branch Library Building Club: Join other kids to create with Legos and Manga-tiles every Friday afternoon at the Norwood Branch.

WCFA  Annual RI Open WCFA’s latest juried exhibition, the 38th Annual RI Open, will be on view Oct. 5 – Nov. 23. This collection of work, curated by juror Victoria Guerina, surveys the rich and diverse community of artists working in and around Rhode Island. This show features a wide array of artistic mediums and styles, including: drawings, painting, sculpture, assemblage, jewelry, photography, digital art, and ceramics, realism, abstraction, and everything in between.

The exhibit shows at the WCFA gallery, 3259 Post Rd, Warwick, RI 02886. The  gallery  is open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.  Admission is free.

FoodTruck Or Treat Join us for the ninth annual FoodTruck or Treat Saturday, 3 – 8 p.m. at Thayer Arena, 925 Sandy Lane, for a spooktacular time with costumess, trick or treating, Food Trucks and other Halloween events. Parking and attendance are free.
West Bay Open Studios Tour Join the artists of the West Bay Open Studios Tour (WBOS) as they celebrate their 16th Season. This self-guided tour will take you to 12 different locations in East Greenwich, Warwick, and North Kingstown, visiting over 15 artists. Locations include the artists’ own studios, as well as historic landmarks such as Clouds Hill Farm and the Warwick Center for the Arts’ Kentish Armory. This is a great opportunity to talk with the artists, watch art demos and perhaps even add a piece of art to your own collection. The event dates are Saturday October 26th & Sunday October 27, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Visit the WBOS website for more information and a map of the tour.

Warwick Weekend Events Sunday:

Howl-ween Hike N Treat: Join the wicked spooky Howl-o-ween Hike N Treat to benefit the Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter on Sunday, October 27, ar 2 p.m. at Warwick City Park (across from Dog Park), 185 Asylum Road, Warwick, RI.

There will be dog-friendly games, dog treats, human treats, a dog hike, pet costume contest with prizes and a raffle! Costumes are encouraged for both dogs and their humans, but not required. Sample some plant-based snacks available at the ANVV table (a plant-based group) and a fun photo backdrop for selfies with your pup. Please bring water for you and your pup, and waste bags for your pup. We will have some extra on hand just in case.
This event itself is free to attend but advance registration is required for the hike and costume contest. All well-behaved, friendly, vaccinated (rabies) dogs are welcome! Click the “tickets” link on our Facebook event to sign up for the hike and costume contest today (limited spots available)!
This event is hosted by Furry Fellas Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Service and proceeds will be donated to the Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter.

Pawtuxet Village Farmer’s Market Visit Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, 60 Rhodes Place, Cranston, RI every Saturday until Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. till noon for  one of the oldest farmer’s markets in Rhode Island. The market sells delicious and freshly-harvested local foods direct from the farm to your dinner table.
