Warwick to Observe Veterans Day With Friday, Sunday Events

WARWICK, RI — The city’s veterans will observe Vetreans Day Friday with a wreath-laying ceremony at Warwick Veterans School at 10 a.m., followed by a day-long resource fair later in the day and a service at St. Benedict’s Church Sunday morning.

The wreath laying ceremony is an annual event for the Warwick Veterans Council. Last year their annual Veterans Day observance / wreath-laying ceremony at Warwick Veterans Park drew 20 vets and officials.

In addition to this year’s ceremony at the park, 2401 W Shore Road, there will also be a day-long Veterans Resource Fair at Warwick Mall, 400 Bald Hill Road, running from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m., according to Warwick Veterans Council member and newly elected Dist. 21 Rep. Camille Vella Wilkinson.

On Sunday from 11 a.m. till noon, a Red, White and Blue Mass will take place at St. Benedict’s Church,135 Beach Ave, Warwick, RI 02889, followed by a continental breakfast from noon till 1:30 p.m.
