Warwick Organizations Vying for D’Angelo’s $10K Giveaway

WARWICK, RI —D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches’ Neighborhood $10K Giveaway contest will award a donation of $10,000 donation from the local D’Angelo shop that receives the most votes from its customers.

Voting began June 28 and runs through Aug. 8. Four D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches locations have partnered with Warwick-based organizations:

  1. D’Angelo of Coventry is partnering with A Wish Come True.

A Wish Come True, located in Warwick, is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization founded on October 8, 1982. It is the
oldest wish granting organization in RI and MA with a mission to grant children suffering with a life
threatening illness a magical wish. A Wish Come True provides wishes to children, ages 3-18,
throughout RI and Southeastern MA.

  1. D’Angelo of Warwick (on Warwick Ave) is partnering with Warwick North Little League

Warwick North Little League (WNLL) is devoted to fair play and sportsmanship. Their priority is that players who choose to play enjoy their experience and create lasting, positive memories.

WNLL was officially formed in December 2014 with the merge between Warwick National Little League and Warwick West Side Little League. Warwick North Little League provides an opportunity for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 16 to learn and play the game of baseball. Warwick North has two playing sites: one on Bend Street and one on Post Road, both in Warwick, Rhode Island.

  1. D’Angelo of Warwick (on Lambert Lind Hwy) is partnering with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of RI

The New England Region of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), headquartered in Wellesley, Massachusetts, which strives to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS is the leading source of free blood cancer information, education and support for patients, survivors, families, and healthcare professionals. LLS helps patients navigate their cancer treatment and ensures they have access to quality, affordable and coordinated care.

If LLS is selected as the winner, the $10,000 will empower The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to achieve its mission to cure blood cancer through its three pillars of research, patient access, and advocacy.

  1. D’Angelo of Warwick (on Jefferson Blvd) is partnering with Westbay Community Action

Westbay Community Action, located in Warwick, Rhode Island. Westbay Community Action is a charitable organization serving the people of Kent County. It helps with food, utilities, health, safety, and education. The organization’s mission is to empower and mobilize people through our programs, partnerships, and advocacy to gain greater self- sufficiency.

If Westbay Community Action is selected as the winner, the $10,000 will be used to expand the organization’s home delivered meals program, which provide emergency food to the elderly and disabled homebound residents of Kent County. It would also help to offer scholarships to working families in need of financial assistance at Westbay’s Childcare Center.

“Westbay Community Action is honored to be nominated for the opportunity to participate in the $10K
Giveaway Program by our local Jefferson Blvd D’Angelo’s restaurant. If Westbay wins this giveaway, it
will allow us to provide essential crisis services to the more than 22,000 residents we serve from Kent
County, RI,” said Paul Salera, President/CEO of Westbay Community Action.

“Something we’ve always been proud of at D’Angelo has been our passion for working closely with the
people in our restaurant communities,” said Jim Croteau, Senior Vice President of D’Angelo Grilled
Sandwiches. “Our restaurant teams have formed such strong relationships in their communities, and
we’re excited to connect them with a program that will give them a chance to deliver a $10,000 donation! I
