May 8, 2014:
42nd Street, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Ocean State Theatre Company on Jefferson Boulevard continues its run of 42nd Street with an afternoon matinee and a nighttime performance. Continues through May 18. Tickets $39, $49, and $59. Available online at Ocean State Theatre Company website.
May 10, 2014:
Rocky Point 5K, 8:30 a.m.
It’s the second running of the Rocky Point 5K on the challenging Warwick Neck course, hosted by the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce.
Registration starts at 8:30, with the starting gun scheduled to go off at 10 a.m. Check out the RP5K website for more details.
A Household of Women, 1 p.m.
Clouds Hill Victorian House Museum, 4157 Post Road, opens its doors for a new exhibit honoring the four generations of women who have owned Clouds Hill since 1877.
Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $8 for college students [with ID] and $5 for children.

Mad Poets Cafe, 7 p.m.
Local poets and spoken word artists gather at Warwick Museum of Art, starting with Open Mic at 7 and the featured artist at 8 p.m. Light refreshments served. Cost is $4.
May 12, 2014:
The Warwick City Council meets at 7 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 3275 Post Road.
Among the items on the May 12 agenda are a proposal to lease the Conimicut Shoals Lighthouse for potential use as a tourist attraction, and a discussion of the creation of a sewer oversight committee.
