Two Rollovers on Rte. 95 Block Traffic North & South Thursday Morning

DOT

UPDATE 10:11 a.m.: The RIDOT reports the crash at Exit 10B on Rte. 95 South has been cleared.

The DOT advises drivers to remain cautious and plan extra time, as residual traffic delays linger.

Warwick, RI – Travellers and the RIDOT report traffic delays in both directions of Rte. 95 this morning as emergency crews work to clear two rollover crashes.

The RIDOT reports one overturned vehicle, with the center lane closed, and the two left lanes blocked on I-95 southbound at Exit 10B RI 117 West at about 8 a.m., on their Twitter feed.

Details of the second rollover were not immediately available.

Reports from drivers confirmed traffic on the highway through the area of Cowesett Road is backed up, with many drivers seeking alternate routes around the rollovers. One driver noted on Facebook that many southbound travelers seeking an alternate route on Rte. 2 South are also causing traffic backups there.

Another driver reported using an alternate northern route by taking Exit 8 to Rte. 2 North, to Rte. 117 past the traffic to the Rte. 95 North exit.
