Tour de Force Bicyclists Hit the Road This Morning

Warwick, RI – There are nearly 400 bicycling police officers from all over New England in town this morning, but not for long.

The Sept. 11 memorial Tour de Force bicycle ride rolled down Post Road Thursday at about 4:30 p.m., stopping at the Sheraton Inn for the first leg of their tour.

Warwick Police blocked off traffic at the intersection of Airport Road and Post Road for about 15 minutes to allow the group to make their way to the hotel, so if you’re headed past that part of the city this morning at about 8 a.m., plan a little extra time into your schedule.

The mass of 390 riders traveled from the Boston Marathon starting line in Hopkinton, MA to Warwick for an evening of rest. This morning, they’ll continue to Ground Zero in New York, NY.

Check out our video on their arrival, posted above.
