Tollgate Kids Take on Tufts High School 3K

At roughly noon Sunday, Tollgate School students joined hundreds of high schoolers gathered at Station Park across from the State House, all dressed in themed costumes for the Tufts Health Plan High School Inspirational 3k.

The fun run draws the most spirited dressers of the day’s running during the annual races, and this year was in keeping with tradition. Waves of Dunkin Donuts coffee cup-clad runners milled about with team mates dressed as Waldo from Where’s Waldo and characters from Super Mario Bros.

Tollgate students showed dressed in loud Hawaiian shirts, sun hats and boat hats, evoking a convincing touristy effect.

Nik Reygadas was the fastest Tollgate runner, coming in 8th place with a time of 8:31.1 in the male division during their 3K run through downtown Providence. Hannah Senerchia was the fastest Toll Gate runner in the female divsion with a 13:03.5.

You can also check out the times for Warwick runners in the CVS Health 5K, where the fastest Warwick residents were Kenny Bager, 45, with a time of 20:36.8 and Courtney Coughlin, 24, with a 24:23.9 during the earlier 5K run at 11 a.m.

This was the 25th year for the CVS 5K.
