Moises Morales Cano, 31, of Astoria, N.Y., pleaded guilty in federal court today to conspiracy to commit bank fraud and aggravated identity theft, admitting to his part in a scheme manipulating bank ATM machines to steal more than $709,000 from thousands of bank customers, including 125 Greenwood Credit Union account owners.
When more than 125 Greenwood Credit Union customers lost a combined $65,000 to thieves with ATM skimming devices in March, Warwick Police Detectives spent a month analyzing video and financial records, identifying Moises Morales Cano, 30, from Astoria, NY. as their suspect.
