WARWICK, RI — RI Trooper Log arrests  March 14– 18 involving Warwick included charges for failing to register as a sex offender, a missed hearing for a felony larceny charge, and a man charged with possessing a stolen firearm and marijuana, and B&E.

Here are the basics on those arrests:

Unregistered sex offender At 9:30 a.m. March 14, troopers arrested Daniel Rivera, 39, of 30 Howard Ave., Cranston, Rhode Island for an active Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Failure to Complete Sex Offender Address Change originating out of the Cranston Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 South in Warwick.

Rivera was transported to the State Police Wickford Barracks where he was processed and later transported to Cranston Police Department pending arraignment.

Missed hearing, felony larceny At 12:49 p.m. March 16, troopers arrested Cedric Hull, 28, of 65 Salmon Street, Apt. #202, Providence, Rhode Island, on a Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Sentencing on the original charge of Felony Larceny – Greater than $1,500, originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Friendship Street in the City of Providence. The subject was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, and later transported to Providence Superior Court for arraignment.

Stolen firearm, marijuana possession, B&E On March 17, members of the HIDTA and Violent Fugitive Task Forces arrested Richard Desautels, 24, of 30 Grove Ave., Warwick, Rhode Island, for the following: 1.) Possession with the Intent to Deliver Marijuana; 2.) Possession of a Stolen Firearm; 3.) Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon; 4.) Possession of a Firearm while Committing a Controlled Substance Violation; and 5.) Nine (9) Attorney General Warrants for 1st Degree Robbery, Violation of Bail, Domestic B&E of a Dwelling, Possession of a Schedule I to IV Controlled Substance, Domestic B&E of a Dwelling, Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle or Parts, Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle or Parts, Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle or Parts and Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle or Parts.

Desautels was arraigned in Third Division District Court, where he was held as a Probation Violator.

Rte. 95 stop, DUI At 11:40 p.m. March 18, troopers arrested Byron Rivera, 29, of 28 Middle St., Apt. #2, Pawtucket, Rhode Island, for 1) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and or Drugs – First Offense, BAC Unknown and 2) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 South in the City of Warwick. Rivera was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks for processing and held overnight pending morning arraignment, where he will be presented as a probation violator.
