RI Trooper Log: Stolen Cars, Reckless Driving, Stolen Goods

WARWICK, RI — RI Trooper Log arrests July 26- 30 involving Warwick spanned charges for stolen cars and vehicles, receiving stolen goods, reckless driving, larceny and a sex offender failing to notify police about a change of address.

Here are the details of those arrests:

Suspended license, missed court On Tuesday July 27 at 7 p.m., troopers from the Traffic Safety Unit arrested Alexander Beauregard, 35, of 31 Sessions St., Providence, Rhode Island, for 1.) Driving with a Suspended License – Third Offense, and 2.) Third Division Court Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the charge of Driving with a Suspended License originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Weeden Street in the City of Pawtucket. Beauregard was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, and then transported to the ACI – Adult Correctional Institution – Women’s Intake Center.

Wanted for stolen vehicle, reckless driving, larceny On Wednesday, July 28, at 4:34 p.m., Troopers arrested Maurice Moore, 49, of 255 Prairie Ave., Providence, Rhode Island, on a Kent County Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on the charges of 1.) Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, 2.) Reckless Driving – Eluding , 3.) Larceny under $500, 4.) Malicious Mischief, and 5.) Possession of Marijuana originating from the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of troopers responding to the State House to assist the Capitol Police with a subject in custody. Moore was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center.

Missed court, stolen vehicle charge On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 6:12 p.m., troopers arrested Michael Rothermel, 39, of 64 Craig Road, Warwick, Rhode Island, on a Providence Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on the charge of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle originating from the Cranston Police Department.

The arrest was the result of troopers responding to the State House to assist the Capitol Police with a subject in custody. Rothermel was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center.

Sex offender failing to register address change On July 28, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested John P. Mcevoy, 28, of 42 Summit Ave., West Warwick, Rhode Island, on the following: 1.) Resisting Arrest; 2.) Providence County Superior Court Warrant for Failure to Appear for Sentencing on a Technical Violation for an original charge of Possession of Child Pornography originating from the Cranston Police Department; 3.) Washington County Superior Court Warrant for Failure to Appear for Sentencing on a Technical Violation for an original charge of Sex Offender Address Change originating from the Warwick Police Department; 4.) Kent County District Court Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pre-Trial Conference on an original charge of Driving with a Suspended License originating from the West Warwick Police Department; and 5.) Kent County District Court Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pre-Trial Conference on an original charge of Driving with a Suspended License originating from the Coventry Police Department.

Mcevoy was transported to Kent County Hospital for evaluation.

Receiving stolen goods At 8:05 p.m. July 30, troopers arrested Robert L. Abercrombie, 30, of 58 Diamond Street, Apt. 4, Providence, Rhode Island for an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant out of the Warwick Police Department for Receiving Stolen Goods.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 South in Coventry. Abercrombie was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, processed, and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center.

This is a test
