RI Trooper Log: Reckless Drivers, DUI, Missed Hearings

WARWICK, RI — RI Trooper Log arrests Oct. 21 – 28 concerning Warwick involved charges for DUI, reckless driving and missed court dates for charges ranging from suspended license driving to B&E.

Here are the basics on those RI Trooper Log arrests:

Erratic driver report, DUI On Saturday, Oct. 21, at 9:54 p.m., troopers arrested William Melanson, 32, of 212 Osgood Road, Milford, New Hampshire, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs BAC Unknown, 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test, and 3.) Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule I to V (Ketamine) – Under 10 Grams.

The arrest was the result of troopers responding to the report of an erratic operator on Route 95 South, in the City of Warwick. Melanson was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.

Reckless driving at Showcase Cinemas At 9:59 a.m. Oct. 22, troopers arrested Corey Wheelock, age 22, of 84 Eileen Drive, North Kingstown, RI and Michael Del Padre, 24, of 125 Vista Circle, North Kingstown, RI, charging each with Reckless Driving – First Offense. The arrests wer the result of  motor vehicle stops at the Showcase Cinemas in Warwick. Wheelock and Del Padre were processed at Wickford Barracks and arraigned by the Justice of the Peace.

Missed court, larceny charge At 10:50 a.m. Oct. 23, troopers arrested Jennifer Marinez, 47, of 213 Central St., Central Falls, Rhode Island, on a Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Attempted Larceny originating out of the East Providence Police Department.

The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in  Warwick. Marinez was transported to the Wickford Barracks where she was processed and later turned over to Providence Superior Court.

Missed court, expired license At 12:05 a.m. Oct. 24, troopers arrested Alain Weah, 25 of 17 Whelan Road, Apt. #3, Providence, Rhode Island, on a Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Driving With Expired License originating out of the State Police Lincoln Barracks. The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in Warwick. Weah was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution- Men’s Intake Center.

Missed court: B&E, etc: On Oct. 26, at 9:36 a.m., troopers arrested David Fortier, 42, of 310 Hawkins St., Providence, Rhode Island for:

1.) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear to Hearing Before Drug Court on the Original Charge of Breaking and Entering of a Business originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

2.) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear to Hearing Before Drug Court on the Original Charge of Shoplifting – Second Offense originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

3.) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear to Hearing Before Drug Court on the Original Charge of Breaking and Entering of a Dwelling originating out of the Cranston Police Department.

4.) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear to Hearing Before Drug Court on the Original Charge of Breaking and Entering of a Dwelling originating out of the Providence Police Department.

5.) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear to Hearing Before Drug Court on the Original Charge of Unlawful Breaking and Entering originating out of the Cranston Police Department.

6.) Washington County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear to Hearing Before Drug Court on the Original Charge of Larceny Greater than $1500 originating out of the Narragansett Police Department.

7.) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear to Hearing Before Drug Court on the Original Charge of Breaking and Entering of a Dwelling originating out of the North Kingstown Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Charles Street in the City of Providence. Fortier was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and transported to Providence Superior Court.

Missed court, drug possession On October 26, at 9 :36 AM, Troopers arrested Tarrah Nickerson,  41, of`100 Transit St., Warwick, Rhode Island for a Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pre-Arraignment Conference on the original charge of Possession of a Schedule I – V Controlled Substance, originating out of the Providence Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Charles Street in the City of Providence. Nickerson was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and transported to Providence Superior Court.

Missed court, walking Rte. 95 At 11:07 p.m. Oct. 27, troopers arrested Roland Morgan, 40, 121 Wood Avenue, Apartment #3, Woonsocket, Rhode Island for a Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended License originating out of the Lincoln Woods Barracks.

The arrest was the result of checking a road walker on Rte. 95 in the City of Warwick. Morgan was processed at the Wickford Barracks and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.

DUI, New London Turnpike At 12:08 a.m. Oct. 28, troopers arrested Juan Garcia, 33, of 1536 Douglas Ave. North Providence, Rhode Island for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs BAC .10 to .15 – First Offense (Phase I: .120 & Phase II: .124).

The arrest was the result of Troopers witnessing a motor vehicle accident on New London Turnpike in the Town of West Warwick. Garcia was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released to the custody of a responsible adult.
