WARWICK, RI —Warwick Police announced at 11:48 a.m. that Centerville Road had been closed between, Diamond hill and Commonwealth Westbound after a water main break, Mayor Frank Picozzi reported today.

Ramps off Rte. 95 onto the street also closed. Picozzi advised planning alternate routes for the duration of repairs.

“You can still use the onramp for 95 north but you’ll be detoured around the area. The 117 westbound ramp from 95 South is closed,” Picozzi wrote on his Facebook page at about 11:24 a.m. He noted the water main is Kent County Water Authority’s infrastructure, and not a city water main.

“This belongs to Kent County Water Authority and the road is a state road. RIDOT and KCWA are on the way.
I urge to to seek alternative routes. This isn’t something that’s going to be fixed quickly,” Picozzi noted.
