RI Trooper Log: Identity Theft, Reckless Driving, DUI

Editor’s note: The following Warwick, RI area arrests were reported by the RI State Police on their website. An arrest reflects charges against an individual, and does not indicate guilt or innocence.

Wickford Barracks

At 1:50 p.m. Dec. 23, troopers arrested Steven Johnson, 23, of 108 Vinton Street, Providence, on a Second District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on an initial charge of Driving With a Suspended License from the Portsmouth Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Jefferson Boulevard in Warwick. Johnson was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed and turned over to Second District Court.

At 7:55 p.m. Dec. 23, troopers arrested Jesse Almstrom, 26, of 800 Towerhill Road, North Kingstown, on a Family Court Bench Warrant for Reciprocal Body Attachment on an original charge of Failure to Appear for Child Support.

The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on East Avenue in Warwick. Almstrom was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed and turned over to the Adult Correctional Facility.

Lincoln Woods Barracks

At 12:49 p.m. Dec. 24, troopers arrested Manuel J. Kima, age 48, of 10 Spring Street, West Warwick, RI, charging him with: 1.) Obtaining Money Under False Pretenses Over $1,500 (two counts), 2.) Identity Fraud (two counts), 3.) Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Sentencing Technical Violation on the original charge of Possession of A Controlled Substance Scheduled I-V, originating out of the Rhode Island State Police Lincoln Woods, 4.) Affidavit Arrest Warrant on the original charge of Obtaining Money under False Pretenses, originating out of the West Warwick Police Department, 5.) Affidavit Arrest Warrant on the original charge of Identity Fraud, originating out of the East Providence Police Department, 6.) Affidavit Arrest Warrant on the original charge of Identity Fraud and Obtaining Money Under False Pretenses, originating out of the East Providence Police Department, 7.) Affidavit Arrest Warrant on the original charge of Obtaining Money under False Pretenses and Identity Fraud, originating out of the Warwick Police Department 8.) Affidavit Arrest Warrant on the original charge of Obtaining Money Under False Pretenses, Identity Fraud, and Forgery and Counterfeiting and General, originating out of the Cumberland Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation. Kima, who was arrested at his residence, was returned to the Lincoln Woods Barracks and processed before being arraigned by a Justice of The Peace and transported to the Adult Correctional Institute for holding.

At 1:15 p.m. Dec. 24, troopers arrested Dwuan Perry, 36, of 205 Camp St., Providence, RI, on an Affidavit Arrest Warrant out of the Providence Police Department for Driving on a Suspended License and Reckless Driving/Eluding originating out of the Providence Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Charles Street in Providence. Perry was transported to the Lincoln Barracks, processed and later turned over to Providence Police Department.

At 2:07 p.m. Dec. 24, troopers arrested Tarik G. Augustine, 23, of 1798 Bedford Ave., Apartment 815, Brooklyn, NY, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Liquor and/or Drugs—1st Offense—BAC Unknown, 2.) Reckless Driving and 3.) Duty to Stop—Accident Resulting in Damage to an Attended Vehicle.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle accident on Rte. 95 in the City of Warwick.

Augustine was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, released, transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks and processed, before being arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released.

At 2:07 p.m. Dec. 24, troopers arrested Jean S. Pierre, 43, 1798 Bedford Ave. Apartment 20, Brooklyn, NY, for 1.) Identity Fraud, 2.) Giving False Documents to a Public Official and 3.) Obstructing a Police Officer in the Execution of Duty.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle accident on Route 95 in the City of Warwick. Pierre was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, released, transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, before being arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released.
