WARWICK, RI — RI Trooper Log arrests June 30 through July  8 concerning Warwick involved charges of failing to appear on a forgery charge, obtaining money falsely, and DUI.

DUI charges from traffic stops on Rte. 95, throwing articles at cars, larceny, and passing bad checks.

Here are the basics on those RI State Police arrests:

Rte. 95 stop, missed court on forgery charge At 12:43 a.m. July 1, troopers arrested Jamaiky Acosta Valerio, 21, of 94 Mawney St., Providence, Rhode Island for an active Third Division District Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pretrial Conference on the original charge of Forgery and Counterfeiting originating out of the North providence Police Department.

The arrest took place as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Warwick. Valerio was transported to the State Police Wickford Barracks where he was processed and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution-Men’s Intake Center.

Rte. 95 stop, DUI charge At 2:38 a.m. July 1, troopers arrested Willis De La Cruz, 30, of 1918 Smith S.t Apt. #2, North Providence, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor/ Drugs 1st Offense- B.A.C. Unknown and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

The arrest took place as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Warwick.

De La Cruz was transported to the State Police Wickford Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released to the custody of a responsible adult.

Obtaining money under false pretenses/fraud On July 6, 2023, members of the Financial Crimes Unit arrested Nathan Reynolds, age 36, of 100 Lansing Ave., Warwick, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Obtaining Money by False Pretenses; and 2) Unlawful Appropriation.

Reynolds was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released on $10,000 personal recognizance.
