WARWICK, RI — RI Trooper Log arrests in Rhode Island Jan. 19 through Jan. 22 involved charges for DUI, crack possession, and an arrest for possession of a “ghost gun,” and driving without consent.

Here are the basics on those RI State Police arrests:

WG Stop, Driving Without Consent Warrant At 2:50 p.m. Jan. 19, troopers arrested Nelson Barbosa, 26, of 55 Shawmut Ave. Apt. #3, Providence, RI for Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for: 1.) Driving Without Consent of Owner and 2.) Domestic Disorderly Conduct from the Pawtucket Police Department.

The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Nooseneck Hill Road in the Town of West Greenwich. The subject was transported to the Barracks where he was processed and later transported to the Pawtucket Police Department.

Missed Court, Driving Without License At 9:55 p.m. Jan. 21 Troopers arrested Marjorie Sanchez, 31, of 12 Palfrey Place, Providence, Rhode Island on a Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Driving Without a License, originating out of the Johnston Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Charles Street in the City of Providence. The subject was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, and transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Women’s Intake.

DUI, Pawtucket Stop At 10:05 p.m. Jan. 21, troopers arrested Moises Dedios, 27, 560 Prospect St. Apt. #2, Pawtucket, Rhode Island for 1.) Possession of Schedule I – V (Crack Cocaine), 2.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor / and or Drugs –B.A.C Unknown – First Offense, 3.) Obstruction of a Police Officer, 4.) Driving Without a License – Eighth Offense, and 5.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Orchard Street in the City of Pawtucket. The subject was transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed and held overnight as a probation violator.

Pawtucket Stop, Crack Possession At 10:05 p.m. Jan. 21, troopers arrested Francisco J. Rodriguez Vargas, 47, of 7 Gerber St., Pawtucket, Rhode Island for 1.) Possession of Schedule I – V (Crack Cocaine) and 2.) Obstruction of a Police Officer.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Orchard Street in the City of Pawtucket. Vargas was transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released.

Providence Stop, DUI At 1:03 a.m., troopers arrested Eric Lima, 38, of 10 Ivy St., Pawtucket, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – BAC Unknown – First Offense, and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95, in the City of Providence. The subject was transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.

Rte. 95 Providence Stop, Ghost Gun At 3:23 p.m., Jan. 21 troopers arrested Jeffrey Sousa, 32, of 20 Dorman Drive, Seekonk, Massachusetts for 1.) Manufacture, Sell, Purchase, or Possession of a Ghost or Undetectable Firearm, 2.) License or Permit Required for Carrying Pistol – Other Weapons Prohibited, 3.) (Two counts) Large Capacity Feeding Devices Prohibited, 4.) Obstructing Officer in Execution of Duty, and 5.) Third District Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on the charge of Shoplifting originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 South in Providence. Sousa was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution- Men’s Intake Center.

Providence Stop, Suspended License Warrant At 11:08 p.m. Jan. 21, troopers arrested Willie Vasquez, 37, of 40 Leander St., Apt. #109, Providence, Rhode Island on a Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on the charge of Driving with a Suspended License originating out of the East Providence Police Department. The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Hartford Avenue in the City of Providence. Vasquez was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and released.

Pawtucket Stop, DUI At 1:20 a.m. Jan. 21, troopers arrested Hamilton Dagraca, 48, of 57 Sisson St., Apt. #1, Pawtucket, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs, BAC Unknown – First Offense, and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test – First Offense.

The arrest was the result of a traffic stop on Newell Avenue in the City of Pawtucket. Dagraca was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released to the custody of a responsible adult.

Protection Order Violation, Coventry Stop At 10:55 a.m. Jan. 21, troopers arrested Kurtis D. Gautier, 36, of 264 O’Connor St., Providence, Rhode Island for 1) Violation of Protection Order – 1st Offense; 2) Obstructing Officer in Execution of his Duty.

The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on New London Turnpike in Coventry. The subject was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, presented before a Justice of the Peace as a probation & bail violator, and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center pending arraignment.

Domestic Felony Assault, Warwick Warrant At 10:43 a.m. Jan. 22, troopers arrested Ryan Hogan, 44, of 271 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence, Rhode Island, for 1.) Domestic Violence- Violation of District Court Protective Order- 3rd or Subsequent Offense and 2.) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Domestic Felony Assault, originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Douglas Avenue in the City of Providence. The subject was transported the Lincoln Woods Barracks where was processed, arraigned, and transported to the Adult Correction Institution -Men’s Intake Center.

Providence Stop, Warwick Warrant At 3 p.m. Jan 22, troopers arrested David Velazquez, 25, of 27 Higgins St., Providence, RI for a Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for pre-trial conference on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended License, originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Delaine Street in the City of Providence. The subject was transported to State Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.

Money Under False Pretenses At 12 :04 a.m. Jan. 22, troopers arrested Jermaine Brewster, 39 of 7 Roy Ave., Middletown, RI for an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for 1) Obtaining Money Under False Pretenses over $1500 2) Access to a Computer for Fraudulent Purpose, originating out of State Police – Headquarters.

The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation conducted by the Rhode Island State Police – Auto Theft / Insurance Fraud Unit and Tiverton Police Department contacting the barracks, advising they had Brewster in their custody. The subject was transported to State Police Headquarters for processing and held overnight pending morning arraignment at Third Division District Court.
