RI Trooper Log: Arrests for Shoplifting, Violating Probation, No-Contact Order

Editor’s note: The following Warwick, RI area arrests recorded in the RI Trooper Log were reported by the RI State Police on their website. An arrest reflects charges against an individual, and does not indicate guilt or innocence.

WARWICK, RI —  Arrests in the RI Trooper Log this week  in, nearby and involving Warwick were the result of multiple traffic stops on state highways and roads leading to charges for shoplifting, probation violation on an original robbery charge, and for violation of a no-contact order.

Here are the details of those arrests:

Man wanted for shoplifting, probation violation, arrested on Rte. 95 At 10:50 a.m. Feb. 13, troopers arrested Joseph Caparrelli, 52, of 485 Plainfield St., Providence, Rhode Island, on 1.) Affidavit & Arrest Warrant for Shoplifting originating from the Cranston Police Department; and 2.) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Violation of Probation on the initial charge of Second Degree Robbery originating from the Lincoln Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in Warwick. Caparrelli was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, and turned over to Cranston Police Department.

Trooper arrests man for no contact order violation On Feb. 12, a member of the Major Crimes Unit arrested Jesse Ellinwood, 38, with a last known address of 15 Harvard Ave., Warwick, Rhode Island, charging him with: 1) Violation of a No Contact Order (3rd subsequent offense).

Ellinwood was arraigned in Third Division District Court, where no plea was entered. Ellinwood was issued $5,000 bail with surety and remanded to the Adult Correctional Institutions.

Man arrested during traffic stop on Family Court warrant At 9:23 a.m. Feb. 14, troopers arrested Eric J. O’Connor, 31, of 21 Riverdale Ave., West Warwick, Rhode Island, for a Bench Warrant – Reciprocal Body Attachment on a non-criminal charge out of Family Court.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Warwick. O’Connor was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, and turned over to Providence Family Court for arraignment.

Troopers arrest woman wanted on shoplifting charge At 11:30 p.m., troopers arrested Kristen Smith, 28, of 200 Woodland Ave, Coventry, RI for a Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Shoplifting out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Pennsylvania Ave. W. Warwick. The subject was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where she was processed and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Female Intake Center.
