Warwick, RI – The Photographic Society of RI‘s annual food and toy drive has a table full of toys and food for RI Family Shelter in Warwick at Lakewood Baptist Church thanks to Lincoln Smith,  a member of club and church alike.

Lincoln’s been collecting toys and food each year at Christmas at the 255 Atlantic Ave. church for the last 20 years. The club’s annual banquet draws about 100 members, who are encouraged to bring food and toy donations for the drive.

Lincoln, 68 a Warwick resident, has been member of the church his whole life. His dad, also Lincoln, had been the pastor at Lakewood Baptist for 23 years before his retirement in 1988.

The elder Lincoln, a chaplain for the Warwick Fire Department,  passed away in 2013 at 92. His car, #49, is the namesake of Lakewood Boy Scout Troop 49.
