Price Rite: Check Out Hunger Fundraiser in Effect

Price Rite Marketplace’s annual Check Out Hunger fundraising campaign, benefiting local food banks returns this year, running through Dec. 29.

Price Rite locations in Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia will raise funds by collecting donations of $1, $3 or $5 from shoppers at checkout, providing customers with a convenient way to help feed hungry families in their communities.

In Rhode Island, Price Rite has locations at 945 Bald Hill Road in Warwick, and in Cranston, Johnston, Pawtucket, and Woonsocket, RI.

All donations from the point of sale fundraising campaign will benefit local hunger-fighting charities and organizations. Price Rite Marketplace contributes approximately $500,000 annually to local food banks and food pantries. Last year, local fundraising resulted in a $72,000 donation to the RI Food Bank.

“We are proud to continue the fight against food insecurity through our annual Check Out Hunger fundraising campaign,” said Jim Dorey, president, Price Rite Marketplace. “Fighting hunger in our communities is a core component of our charitable efforts, and we appreciate the support of our generous customers and the dedication of our associates, whose contributions help us to make a difference in the areas we serve.”
