WARWICK, RI — Police arrested a passenger in a a white 2008 Chevy Impala parked behind Motel 6 July 30 at 8:28 p.m. on a Pawtucket domestic assault warrant, later finding 5 grams of methamphetamine on him during a search.

Warwick Police officer Thomas Greene charged Christopher Graves, 41, of 40 Fortin Ave., Apt. 1, Pawtucket, with possession of the methamphetamines, a controlled substance.

After identifying him as the subject of the domestic assault warrant and transporting him to Warwick Police Headquarters, Greene searched Graves, finding a small bag labeled “CVS” containing a white, crystalized powder and a cut orange straw covered with the same substance.

The arrest happened after Greene spotted the car parked behind the motel. The car had been backed into a parking space and was stopped with its lights off and the windows cracked. Given the area of the city’s high crime ate, Greene decided to take a closer look at the car and its occupants.

Including Graves, where were two other people in the car, but only Graves had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was held pending the next court session.
