Warwick, RI -The $29.9 million Apponaug Circulator Project continues as the first days of spring get underway, with lane closures and traffic delays expected through the project area this week.
According to the RIDOT’s timetable, spring heralds the construction of the roundabout at Centerville Road and Toll Gate Road.
Demolition of the Warwick water tower, which Rose Amoros, DOT’s director of communications & customer service, said could have started in February or early March, weather permitting, is now tentatively scheduled for May.
The entire project, which will convert the one-way Post Road stretch through Apponaug into a two-way at Post Road at Williams Corner, and put roundabouts at Apponaug Four Corners, the Centerville Road and Tollgate Road intersection, the Greenwich Avenue and Veteran’s Memorial Drive intersection, and the Veterans Memorial Drive and Post Road Extension intersection, is expected to be complete in 2017.
