COVENTRY, RI — Coventry Police Department‘s National Night Out returns Tuesday for a second run of the family festival where community is king.

The event, observed by police departments nationwide, is aimed at creating a more cohesive relationship with residents and fostering interactions between community members and the nation’s police departments. The Coventry Police department joined the fun for the first time last year.

The free event invites all community members to gather for an exciting evening of fun at the Town Hall annex, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. There will be a wide array of food trucks, face-painting fun for kids, a photo booth, inflatables, Touch-A-Truck, a Bounce House from Bing’s Backyard Bash, K9 Nixo demo, Comfort K9 Jovie, a drone demo, Coventry firefighters will give a Jaws of Life demo, foam party*, raffles,   obstacle course by Mastery Martial Arts. and several other community partner vendor tables.

What should I wear to a foam party?

We recommend wearing a lightweight shirt and shorts or swimwear and comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. And that’s it really it!

While a foam party won’t leave you soaking wet like a pool party will, you will get wet nonetheless, meaning it’s important to wear comfortable clothing.
Bonus point for quick-drying clothes!

Coventry National Night Out Food trucks include

Burrito Bowl, Iggy’s, Mooseman’s Kettle Corn, Kona Ice and a cotton candy stand.
