Here are the basics on those RI State Police Coventry and other Kent County arrests:
Child porn possession On July 31, 2024, members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Robert Hawkins, 23, of 44 Knotty Oak Shores, Coventry, Rhode Island, for Possession of Child Pornography.
Hawkins was transported to the State Police Wickford Barracks for processing then to Third District Court for arraignment. The Honorable Justice Caruolo set bail at $5,000 with surety, to include no contact with minors and limited internet use.
Child porn possession On Aug. 1, members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Alan Silvia, age 56, of 1 Ada Court, Coventry, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Possession of Child Pornography. Mr. Silvia was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing and to Third District Court for arraignment.
The Honorable Associate Judge Caroulo set $5,000 surety bail with special bail conditions of restricted Internet access and no unsupervised contact with minors.
Missed court, suspended license charge On Aug. 8 at 11:45 a.m., troopers arrested Michael S. Adams, 47, of 16 Gerald Ave., Coventry, Rhode Island for 1.) A Fourth Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the Original Charge of Driving with a Suspended License, and 2.) Driving with Suspended/Revoked/Cancelled License 4th or Subsequent Offense. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the Town of East Greenwich.
Adams was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, processed, and later transported to Fourth District Court.
Obtaining property, credit card, false pretenses On Aug. 8, at 3:30 p.m., troopers arrested Adam J. Peiczarka, 48, of 110 Goldfinch Drive Apt. #111, Coventry Rhode Island on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for 1.) Obtaining Property by False Pretenses / Personation, 2.) Obtaining Credit Card through Fraudulent means, 3.) Conspiracy, 4.) Fraudulent Use of Credit Card.
The arrest was a result of a Barracks investigation and the subject subsequently being located at 66A Mail Road in the Town of Exeter. The subject was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released with a future Fourth Division District Court date.
Illegal firearms charges At 2:57 p.m. Aug. 9, troopers arrested Jayson C. Shute, 37, of 1439 Main St., West Warwick, Rhode Island for 1.) Possession of Ghost Gun, 2.) License or Permit Required to Carry a Pistol, 3.) Possession of Firearm by Person Convicted of Crime of Violence, 4.) Weapons Other than Firearms Prohibited, 5.) Weapons Other than Firearms Prohibited, 6.) Large Capacity Feeding Devices Prohibited, 7.) Carrying Dangerous Weapons/Substances Committing Crime of Violence – First Offense, 8.) Manufacturing/Possession with Intent to Deliver Schedule I/II Controlled Substance – Fentanyl, 9.) Possession of Controlled Substance – Schedule I to V – 10g or Less – Methamphetamine, and 10.) Driving with Suspended License – Fourth or Subsequent Offense.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Turner Drive in the Town of West Warwick. Mr. Shute was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions where he was held as a Bail and Probation Violator.
