Lakewood Baptist Cereal Challenge Delivers

WARWICK, RI — Lakewood Baptist Church recently delivered more than  1,000 boxes of cereal to West Bay Marketplace, the spoils of the church’s July cereal challenge food drive.
Lincoln Smith, member of Photographic Society of RI, organized the church food drive during the month of July, setting a goal of 700 boxes of cereal.  The total collected was 1,035 boxes.  That total was 305 boxes more than their April Cereal Challenge.West Bay Marketplace, at 487 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick, RI, run by West Bay Community Action, is a food pantry providing food for individuals and families in need. The Westbay Marketplace is the third largest food pantry in RI.

Smith extended a thank you to Bill Iannotti for helping him pack up the cereal. He  also  thanked his church family, Pawtuxet Baptist Church, Spring Green Memorial Church and Concordia Center for Spiritual Living for their generous donations of cereal.

“Also, a ‘thank-you’ to his church family and friends who gave monetary donations for him to buy the cereal,” Smith  said.
