WARWICK, RI — The 23-year-old Coventry man arrested by Warwick Police on Oct. 20 for possessing brass knuckles and causing a disturbance recently pleaded no contest to the charges.

At his arraignment on Nov. 5, Nicholas Charron entered the plea to one misdemeanor count each of illegal weapons possession and disorderly conduct before Judge Elaine T. Bucci.

Bucci ordered the case filed for one year, meaning Charron can apply to have it expunged if he is not arrested again within that time.

Warwick Police Ofc. Damien Andrews had been on site at The Trap, 195 Old Forge Road, 12:44 a.m. on Oct. 20 when bouncers at the nightclub asked him to remove Charron because he had been involved in a fight with another person.

Andrews found the brass knuckles during a search of Charron’s pockets, according to police reports.

Charron also paid $186.75 in court costs, according to online records.
