UPDATE: 11:28 a.m.: The National Weather Service has has extended the winter weather advisory until 4 p.m. today for southern RI and till 7 p.m. tonight for northern RI. Snow and ice are expected to make driving treacherous into the night.
WARWICK, RI — Warwick School’s out this morning in advance of a Winter Weather Advisory warning of slick roads and walks, issued by the National Weather Service, ending at 1 p.m.
Several public and private school districts in the state, including Bishop Hendricken High School, are also closed. St Peter School, St Rose of Lima School, are also closed.Â

CCRI has cancelled Tuesday exams, which are rescheduled to Friday; Campuses remain open.
Warwick Superintendent Phil Thornton said Monday night he would make the call on whether to cancel classes at about 4 a.m.
NWS predicts 1 to 3 inches of snow and and ice accumulations of a light glaze of ice on the roads during the storm, which will continue through 1 p.m. today. The forecast calls for snow, freezing rain and sleet, possibly mixed with rain before 2 p.m., then rain, possibly mixed with freezing rain between 2 and 3 p.m., then rain after 3 p.m., with a. high temperature near 35.
“Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute,” the NWS warned in its advisory.
