WARWICK, RI — Mayor Frank Picozzi reports a car struck a telephone pole on West Shore Road near Whalen St/ Second Point Road, cutting power to Warwick Neck, Riverside, Bayside and surrounding areas.
“I was on-site and talked to RI Energy. They’ve restored power to most areas already,” Picozzi wrote on Facebook at 11:49 p.m. Thursday.
“A crew will be there shortly to install a new pole and when that’s completed they’ll be able to restore the power that’s still out. Should be two to three hours,” Picozzi wrote.
RI Energy’s Power Outage map backed up the estimate, showing expected restoration of power at about 4 a.m.
