WARWICK, RI — Warwick Police report a Providence Policeman and his wife turned themselves in on shoplifting charges following a report of their alleged theft at the Lowe’s Home Improvement at 555 Greenwich Ave. June 6.

On Wednesday, William Dickie II, 39 and his wife, Tara Uciferro, 47, of Cranston, turned themselves in to the Warwick Police Department where they were each wanted for one count of misdemeanor shoplifting. Warwick Police say Dickie is a Providence Policeman.

The charges stemmed from a June 6 report that the two had stolen from the Lowes store, according to police.

Asset Protection employees at the store reported the theft to Warwick Police to file a criminal complaint against the couple. Both Dickie and Uciferro were seen on the store’s camera surveillance system, leaving the store without paying for merchandise.

WPD’s investigation revealed that William Dickie pushed a shopping cart of R30 insulation valued at $65.98 past the registers without making any attempt to stop and pay for the item, while Tara Uciferro did the same with a window air conditioner valued at $379.

They were each released with a summons to appear in Kent County District Court for arraignment on Thursday June 24, 2021, at 10:30 a.m.
