WARWICK, RI — Warwick Police received a report of diaper double-dip theft where a man in black, including a mask, walked out of the 767 Warwick Ave. CVS with two boxes of diapers, then returned for two more April 27 at 8:30 p.m.
Officer Charles Austin visited the store and spoke with the manager, William Travis, who said that at around 8:30 p.m., a man wearing all black, including a mask, entered and took two large boxes of diapers, then carried them out of the store without paying for them. Travis said the man also had a shopping carriage full of unidentified merchandise when he left, which he also didn’t pay for.
Travis said the man returned shortly after and repeated the theft. He said altogether the man stole $151.45 in diapers from the store. The other merchandise was not catalogued.
Travis provided Austin video of the thefts. Austin forwarded the report to WPD detectives.
