WPD: Motorcyclist in Critical Condition Following Warwick Avenue Crash

WARWICK, RI — Warwick Police report the motorcyclist transported to Rhode Island Hospital following a crash with a minivan Tuesday at 7 p.m. is being treated for serious injuries including broken bones, and was listed in critical condition as of 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Police have not filed charges as a result of the crash, and the Warwick Police Traffic Division Accident Reconstruction Unit’s investigation is continuing.

The WPD’s  initial investigation of the crash determined the minivan, driven by Deborah Brown, 67, of Webb Avenue, Warwick, was traveling south on Warwick Avenue and turning left when it collided with the motorcycle operated by Robert Brierly, 28, of Manor Road, Cranston while he was traveling north on Warwick Avenue.

The Warwick Police Traffic Division Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the specific cause of the crash, and whether speed and/or distracted driving were factors in the crash. There was no indication of alcohol or drug impairment with either operator, police report.
