WPD Investigating Body Found Near Airport

WARWICK, RI —  Warwick Police are asking the public’s help as they investigate this afternoon’s discovery of a body found in the “late stages” of decomposition in the wooded area near 1960 Post Road, not far from T. F. Green International Airport.

Warwick Police received a report of a body in the area at about 4:21 p.m. Tuesday. Once at the location, officers found a human body decomposing nearby.

“At the time of this release it is unknown if the deceased is male or female,” Warwick Police reported in a statement about the discovery. The cause and manner of the person’s death are unknown.

The Warwick Police Detective Division along with the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene for further investigation.
